No.0130:Inertia - Although I understand it
September 30,2024
Mr Ishiba, who won the LDP presidential election against expectations of a poor result, sought support for the presidential election, stating that ‘we must examine the lost 30 years’. It's a strange thing that somehow continues around us doesn't it? But it doesn't matter, because things are somehow getting done, and there are not a few things that just keep on going on like that. Once it becomes a habit, it is hard to stop even if there is something better to do. It seems that
the habit of preferring stability to change is embedded in our genes.
One such example. I have been working from home for a long time. One of the most exciting times of the day is lunchtime. Since some time ago, it has become the norm for me to finish off my regular lunch with a cup of ramen. Although I am very much aware that I am on the road to lifestyle-related diseases due to excessive intake of sugar and salt, I cannot stop. Just like my little finger that inevitably stands up to grab a glass of milk after a bath. Tomorrow I will stop, so just for today, the habit is kept alive by such
optimism for the future.
Another example is the issue of sexual assault by the former head of a major entertainment agency, which has recently become less controversial. Many young people were preyed upon as a result of the decades-long leaning relationship between the firm and the TV station. in exchange for large amounts of advertising revenue. Early and fair reporting of the incident would have led to the early exit of such offices from society. Since that incident, I have developed a strong distrust with the news broadcast by such TV stations. Just like the dislike of a cult held by a former member who has left the cult. I don't want to be influenced by biased information with a strong taste for ratings (advertising fees).
On a similar topic, reports of falsification of inspection data by manufacturers have continued to emerge. I can't say that the product has failed at this point in time. What about delivery times? What about costs? The manufacturing department is too strong and the pressure on the quality control department is too great... And so the quality control department has to lick its pencil. In moderation. Like the poor man who runs to the convenience store late at night to buy sweets to keep his woman in a good mood. The sincerity of the customer is left behind in complete internal logic.
It is not that fraud has increased. It is that the number of fraud revelations is increasing.

Lately I've been somewhat fed up with the pattern of my daily routine. Something has to change! I had been feeling that for a while. Then I remembered that management consultant Kenichi Omae said that the only way to change yourself is to change the following three things.

Lately I've been somewhat fed up with the pattern of my daily routine. Something has to change! I had been feeling that for a while. Then I remembered that management consultant Kenichi Omae said that the only way to change yourself is to change the following three things.
- Change where you live
- Change the people you associate with
- Change the allocation of your time
Particularly with regard to 1, I started my own business more than ten years ago, yearning to be a nomad. To some extent, it has become possible to change the way I work, depending on what is appropriate at any given time, without being tied to anything. However, the location is extremely fixed and I continue to be sedentary. In order to change this situation, I plan to use a campervan to move to a place of my choice to work and improve my productivity in a fresh atmosphere. In this way, I hope I can be like the Mongolian people, who have developed themselves through their overwhelming mobility.
Stop yearning!
