Instead of the one who was not chosen, is there a middle ground that is neither? Even such an assertion would not be tolerated and could be treated as incompetence. I think that this kind of forced uniformity is at the root of the problems of new religions and corporate scandals.

Sometimes it is hard when we are forced to choose one side or the other, or forced to be this way all the time. It is much easier to be aware of the middle ground. LGBT, or sexual minorities who are physically male but emotionally female or somewhere in between, have been featured on TV and in the newspapers recently. Since marriage between couples of the same physical sex is not legally recognized, they are subjected to disadvantages and inconveniences in various aspects of daily life, from money-related matters such as taxes, insurance, and inheritance to public restrooms, employment, medical care, etc. With around 10% of the population said to have this characteristic, I think the term "minority" is inappropriate and an issue that should be viewed as normal.

Amidst all this, the momentum for zero carbon dioxide emissions to prevent global warming from a short while ago has quickly deflated.
